A powerful print exploring autistic masking and self-expression. Taken from my original textile artwork Too Good At Masking, this piece reflects the challenges of high-masking autism, especially for those socialised as female.
I created a playful rosette to award myself, in a tongue-in-cheek way, for masking so well - highlighting both the resilience and exhaustion it represents. Made with fabric pens on recycled cotton and stitched with gold vintage thread, the original artwork celebrates honesty and lived experience.
This piece was shown as part of my Befriending my Brain exhibition in Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot (2024), and The Old Fire Station, Oxford (2025).
