Hello, I'm Eden
I’m an artist and art facilitator based in South Oxfordshire, England.
I live with my partner and our two very helpful cats, Effie and Seymour.
A playful sense of being free to be myself is what drives my art practice and the sessions I lead with others; we can use creating art to be kind to ourselves!
In particular the feeling of keeping my true self locked inside for decades, until a realisation about being neurodivergent, inspires my artwork. I process the world and my feelings through creating.
My art is intuitive, created mindfully in the present moment. It is my colourful mindfulness practice, and I envelop myself in my senses as I create; the shapes paint makes when a brush is pushed against the paper, the sound of thread piercing fabric, the smell of inks, the feel of my hands covered in paint.
Ultimately my work is about self expression, and unapologetically being yourself. We hide so many facets of ourselves to be palatable. What if we lived out loud, in full colour? This is art, unmasked!
Through my art sessions I help people to be kinder to themselves with their creating. I work in groups or 1:1, and work with companies and their staff.
I use my skills as a mindfulness teacher to help you relax into the present moment.
I am accredited by the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation, and teach secular mindfulness.
A bit of background
I have always loved to create. For most of my life I have meandered around, not quite knowing where I fitted. It finally struck me, at age 32 when I realised I was an autistic ADHDer, that I couldn’t work out where I belonged, because I didn’t know who I was.
Through creating I am learning to make friends with my busy, sensitive, confusing, overwhelming mind.
A big way I process the world and my feelings is through creating. It can be serious and it can be playful. What you see is me processing my new-found identity, through mindful creating and slow stitching.
